HTC Sensation Hands On At HTC UK Roadshow: Video

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 04:35 AM PDT

The latest smartphone out of the HTC camp is of course the HTC Sensation, and currently HTC is doing the rounds of a few cities in the UK with their roadshow showing off their devices along with HTC Sense, and today we have a little video footage captured at that roadshow.

The guys over at Android Central took a little trip to Manchester UK to visit the HTC roadshow and managed to get a little playtime with the new HTC Sensation and of course we have that footage for your viewing pleasure below.

You are no doubt aware that the HTC Sensation comes sporting the latest Sense UI, HTC Sense 3.0, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, although apparently the Sensation the guys got to play with had a pre-release firmware running.

So rather than me waffle on about what goes on in the video, I'll simply let you skip on down to hit that play button and check out the HTC Sensation in action at the HTC roadshow UK…enjoy.

Atrix 4G Battles Xperia Arc in Face Off Videos

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 03:29 AM PDT

So how about a little smartphone battle between an Android 2.2 Froyo device and an Android 2.3 Gingerbread device? Thus we have for your viewing pleasure today a face off battle between the Motorola Atrix 4G and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

The two-part Motorola Atrix 4G vs. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc face off videos come our way courtesy of the guys over at Daily Mobile and by way of the Fun Love Tech YouTube page, with the first part delivering just over thirteen minutes and the second just over sixteen minutes.

The Motorola Atrix 4G as said is a Froyo device with a metal housing and 4G connectivity wile the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is a Gingerbread handset is a plastic handset without 4G but is a lighter device weight wise.

But the big question is how well do these two Android devices stand up against each other, will one come out on top, perhaps the Xperia Arc will win due to that Android Gingerbread, to the Atrix due to that 4G?

Obviously I'm not going to spoil you enjoyment of the videos so I'll stop right there and let you head on down to hit those play buttons, and of course feel free to let us now if you agree or disagree with the outcome by posting us a comment…enjoy.

iPhone 5 Design Similar to iPod Touch

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 02:39 AM PDT

Ah the Apple rumours continue to roll out about their next generation iPhone, this time round word has it that the iPhone 5 may not look like the iPhone 4 at all, but would rather take on a form resembling the iPod Touch.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo, Joshua Topolsky of This Is My Next says according to sources the iPhone 5 will be "a completely redesigned handset" an iOS handset that looks "more like the iPod touch than the iPhone 4."

So based on what the sources have said Topolsky say the iPhone 5 may come out to play sporting a 3.7-inch edge-to-edge display, something that has been rumoured for a while now, a chassis along the lines of a "teardrop," and a multitouch gesture based home button.

The image is of course a mock up, but Topolsky says the iPhone 5 will be a thinner handset than the iPhone 4, (maybe Apple is hoping to gain back that world's thinnest smartphone title) with the screen being boned glass.

However apparently the increased screen size would mean a drop in pixels per inch to 326 x 312 but this would still qualify as Retina Display.

Of course all this is just pure speculation as I'm fairly sure Apple has managed to keep a tight lid on anything to do with the iPhone 5, and as we all know Apple is quite good at diverting people from the truth when it comes to Apple gear, this should be treated as such until such times as firm evidence is found.

White iPhone 4 US Best Buy Launch Date Revealed

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 02:11 AM PDT

Yesterday it came to light that the white iPhone 4 may be launching in Europe next week on the 27th of April, but what about the US white iPhone 4, when can white iPhone 4 hopefuls in the States expect to be able to grab the white iOS smartphone?

Well according to the guys over at 9to5 Mac, they have received a Best Buy inventory screenshot from a source that shows the white iPhone 4 may come out to play in the US on the very same day as in Europe, Wednesday the 27th.

The supplied screenshot shows the AT&T white iPhone 4 however; apparently a Verizon iPhone in white is also coming according to the source.

Furthermore, apparently the guys have been informed that both 16GB and 32GB white iPhone 4 handsets have already been shipped to Best Buy locations across the country in preparation for the Wednesday launch.

It has been suggested however that there could possible be a shortage of the 32GB model although that is yet to be confirmed. So who's hoping to snap up the white iPhone 4 next week?

iPhone 4 White Possibly Being Tested for T-Mobile USA

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 02:01 AM PDT

In the past it has been rumoured over in the good ole US of A, T-Mobile might one day see Apple's iOS smartphone play nice on their network, but thus far the iPhone hasn't come to T-Mobile USA. However that's not to say that Apple doesn't have plans to deliver a T-Mobile iPhone at some point.

It appears that Apple may be considering delivering the iPhone 4 to T-Mobile USA as according to an article over on the Boy Genius Report, they have pictures or what they say is a white iPhone 4 prototype with T-Mobile USA 3G bands.

Apparently they have verified that this prototype is running a test version of iOS similar to that previously seen in the white iPhone 4 video from Vietnam, and features test apps such as Apple employee directory app and Radar.

The front of this iPhone prototype is slightly different to other retail images of the white iPhone 4, particularly the proximity sensor has changed, thus the guys believe that Apple is currently testing the T-Mobile USA radio on a current model of the iPhone 4.

Could it be that Apple is indeed preparing to deliver the iPhone 4 to T-Mobile USA? Perhaps the AT&T proposed acquisition of T-Mobile has finally pushed Apple towards T-Mobile USA as an iPhone carrier.

So if T-Mobile USA does get their own iPhone 4, whether in white or black, would any of our T-Mobile USA readers pick up the iPhone 4?
