HTC Incredible 2 poses for some candids with its Verizon branding

The original HTC Droid Incredible was a big hit for Verizon last Spring, there were recurring shortages as you may recall, and although it was eclipsed in the specs department by the Droid X after just a few months on the market it remained a favorite for many Verizon customers.

We saw the the HTC Incredible S unveiled last month at Mobile World Congress and weren’t certain at the time if Verizon would be getting the same hardware (with a CDMA radio) or whether there would be some tweaks for Big Red. Based on the photos and the source that provided them to Android Spin we can expect a carbon copy of the Incredible S.

HTC Incredible 2 Specs as reported:

  • 4.0" Super LCD WVGA
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) w/ Sense
  • 8MP camera w/ flash
  • 1.3MP front facing camera
  • 1Ghz Qualcomm MSM 8655 processor
  • 4GB internal storage
  • 768mb of RAM
  • 1450mAh battery

In the cavalcade of upcoming Verizon phones that we posted Friday you all seemed pretty lukewarm on anything not running a dual-core processor, but for you HTC faithful with no dual-core phones on the horizon is there anything that would get you to bite on the Incredible 2 or are you drawing the line at not getting LTE or dual-core? The one “advantage” that stands out for the Incredible 2 in my mind is its size, which at 4″ may appeal to the average user more than the pocket distending 4.3″ of the Thunderbolt.
