Silicone USB SATA 2.5″ Drive Enclosure

Turn any standard 2.5″ internal SATA drive into an external drive with the Silicone USB SATA 2.5″ Drive Enclosure from ThinkGeek.  No tools are needed – simply pull the enclosure over the hard drive.  The silicone enclosure covers the drive but still allows ventilation to prevent overheating.  The enclosure uses a MA6116 chipset and SATA L-type internal data and power connections and supports data transfer rates up to 480 Mbps.  It has a built-in USB cable and is compatible with Windows and Mac computers.  It’s 4.3″X2.9″X0.5″ and weighs 1.4 ounces.  It’s $9.99 from ThinkGeek. ...

Subtly Display Your Geek Cred with the Cadence 4-Bit Chrono Watch

Unlike the watches that display the time in a pattern of colored lights, the 4-Bit Chrono UTC Watch from the Cadence Watch Co. looks like a typical analog watch with date and chronograph functions.  The geekery is subtle in this one:  the hour markers are displayed in 4-bit code with the least significant bit to the outside of the watch, and the red hand marks the UTC time.  The watch has a 42mm-diameter stainless steel case with a leather band.  The quartz movement is made in Japan, and the watch is water -resistant to 5ATM.  The watch will be released soon, but you can pre-order it for $195, which is a 40% savings. ...
