Subtly Display Your Geek Cred with the Cadence 4-Bit Chrono Watch

Unlike the watches that display the time in a pattern of colored lights, the 4-Bit Chrono UTC Watch from the Cadence Watch Co. looks like a typical analog watch with date and chronograph functions.  The geekery is subtle in this one:  the hour markers are displayed in 4-bit code with the least significant bit to the outside of the watch, and the red hand marks the UTC time.  The watch has a 42mm-diameter stainless steel case with a leather band.  The quartz movement is made in Japan, and the watch is water -resistant to 5ATM.  The watch will be released soon, but you can pre-order it for $195, which is a 40% savings. ...

Make Parking the Car Easier with a Laser Guide

The Laser Parking System from AutoSport can reduce damage to your car (or your garage) by letting you know when you’re in the “parking sweet spot.”  The system plugs into a power outlet or uses batteries.  Installation is easy with the included hardware.  Set it up by parking the car where you want it, then aim the laser to shine on a specific spot on your hood or dashboard so you’ll know when you’re parked correctly in the future.  A motion sensor turns the laser on and off so you don’t waste power.  The ...

EmSeeQ Emergency Locator Helps Recover Wandering and Lost Loved Ones Before it's Too Late

Amber Alerts notify us when a child has been lost or taken and is in danger.  Missing children aren’t the only vulnerable people in need of immediate recovery, though.  Elderly people, those with mental illness, Alzheimer patients, and others with cognitive impairment may also go missing and will need assistance returning home where they can get the care they need.  A few states have created a Silver Alert system to notify the public of missing and endangered adults, but that system still only alerts citizens to be on the lookout for the missing person. ...

Swiftpoint Mouse Review

The Swiftpoint Mouse is made for those of you that love your laptop, but don’t love using the touchpad while you’re working with the computer on your lap. The Swiftpoint is a very small wireless mouse that you can use directly on your laptop’s surface. I’ve been using my Macbook Air as my primary computer for the past couple of months and sometimes find it inconvenient to use the touchpad when I am working in Photoshop and other applications that require finer cursor movements. The Swiftpoint looks like an interesting alternative to the touchpad. Let’s see. ...
