Kissing Games iOS App: World Audio Book Posted: 16 May 2011 04:29 PM PDT The Kissing Games Of The World is an audiobook iOs app and is a wonderful story that will keep you immersed for hour at a time, ideal for those long journeys, bedtime reads or anytime you get a moment to yourself. This audiobook iOS app contains a professional recording of Kissing Games Of The World a story that centres on the free-spirited artist and single mother Jamie McClintock who has found peace and freedom at last by sharing a farmhouse with an elderly man and his young grandson. However, when the old man suddenly dies, the idyllic country life she has become accustomed to comes to a halt, as the estranged son of the old man, Nate, returns to claim his child and the house. Nate’s sick, arrogant and salesman-like approach to parenthood is disliked by Jamie, whilst Nate is irritated by Jamie's laid-back, earth mother view on life. This is definitely not a case of love at first sight and as they try to work out the logistics of raising their two young boys, whilst reluctantly enduring the company of each other. It is not until they are apart, that they both realize that sometimes love has an uncanny way of sneaking through the door you were sure you had slammed shut long ago. In order to find out how the story pans out, you will have to purchase the Kissing Games Of The World (audiobook) from iTunes, currently priced at $29.99 (£17.99). It is compatible with the following Apple devices iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Please come back and leave your comments on the story below. Thanks. |

iPhone 5 (4S) Phones 4 U Release Date November: UK Posted: 16 May 2011 02:56 PM PDT The Apple iPhone 5 also known as the iPhone 4S is set for release in the UK November 21 according to Phones 4 U; hopefully this is the final date of when this smartphone will hit the shelves. A representative who is not known via Phones 4 U St Albans branch let slip the date whilst chatting with T3.com and apparently the next Apple smartphone will be pretty much the same as the iPhone 4 with new software. No one knows if the Apple handset will be named as the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S, it could perhaps be something completely different and that is why we have to speculate names until the official word is out. If all the above is true then it is suggested the new smartphone by Apple will be unveiled in September with official release in November, WWDC is set to kick off June 6 and we are all still sitting around hoping that they will reveal the new iPhone 5 aka 4S or whatever it will be called. According to the source above the iPhone 4S will bring small updates to the current iPhone 4, which means no crazy design but merely a better processor and cameras and possibly cosmetic changes” and HSPA+ support, could we see edge-to-edge display? If any Phones4U persons are reading this article please do let us know here at Phones Review your side of the story. Thanks Source – TechRadar |

iOS 5 Possibly Featuring Speech to Text Conversion? Posted: 16 May 2011 09:09 AM PDT More possible rumours on Apple's latest operating system today, with the assumption that a Speech to Text conversion feature may find its way into iOS 5 due to the discovery of a new Apple patent that delivers more voice integration possibilities. According to the iPhone Download Blog the guys over at Patently Apple have come up with the new patent, which suggests that Apple could be looking at a text to speech/speech to text converter for the iOS smartphone. Here's what the Patently Apple article says… "According to a new Apple patent application that was published this morning by the US Patent and Trademark Office, future iPhone's are likely to provide end users with effective new ways of communicating in both noisy environments like a restaurant or even during a quiet office meeting without stirring a mouse. The system involves using new text-to-speech and speech-to-text converters as well as providing a means of sending prerecorded notifications to the caller if you're unable to speak when answering your phone." Although it has to be said not many of these Apple patents make it to reality. But what do our iPhone toting reader's think about this new patented, would you like to see text to speech and speech to text delivered by Apple? |

BlackBerry PlayBook Recall: RIM Official Statement Posted: 16 May 2011 08:23 AM PDT Apparently there seems to be a problem with some of RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook tables, so much so that Research In Motion has issued a recall for about 1000 of the devices, and have issued an official statement as to why. According to the guys over at Crackberry, the unofficial word via a Staples memo was that 900 BlackBerry PlayBook units were to be recalled by RIM, so they contacted Research In Motion to get to official low down. Here their official statement…" RIM determined that approximately one thousand BlackBerry PlayBook tablets (16 GB) were shipped with an OS build that may result in the devices being unable to properly load software upon initial set-up. The majority of the affected devices are still in the distribution channel and haven’t reached customers. RIM is working to replace the affected devices. In the small number of cases where a customer received a PlayBook that is unable to properly load software upon initial set-up, they can contact RIM for assistance." So there you have it, not too much to worry about, so if you have a BlackBerry PlayBook we'd like to know if you are one of those who have had their tablet recalled or if you are experiencing the above problem. |
Nokia Contemplating Selling Mobile Phone Unit to Microsoft? Posted: 16 May 2011 07:35 AM PDT Nokia as you know is going to push out Windows Phone handsets at some point in the future, but is Microsoft going to get more from Nokia than first thought? As apparently the word is Nokia may be contemplating selling their mobile phone unit to Microsoft. According to an article over on the Boy Genius Report by way of Unwired View, Nokia man in the know, Eldar Murtazin, who has proven in the past to be spot on with his info, has intimated that Nokia is considering selling off their phone business to Microsoft and that negotiations for the sale could start next week. Apparently the results of those negotiations will not be made public immediately but the deal could be closed before the end of the year. Apparently Murtazin says, "Both companies are in a big hurry." So if this news turns out to be true, will it be the end of Nokia branded smartphones? Will anyone be disappointed if Microsoft does indeed purchase Nokia's mobile phone business? |
Samsung Galaxy S 2 US Names Verizon Function, AT&T Attain, Sprint Within Posted: 16 May 2011 07:05 AM PDT I'm not too sure why the good old US of A has to be different from the rest of the world, but apparently when the Samsung Galaxy S 2 hits the US shores the Android smartphone will be having a name change for three of the US carriers. According to an article over on Android Central, and by way of Pocket Now, etailer Wirexgroup has outed what the Samsung Galaxy S 2 will be known as with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. Apparently the Verizon model of the Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset will be the Verizon Function, while the AT&T version will be the AT&T Attain and the Sprint model will be the Sprint Within, although of course this hasn't been officially confirmed. Not sure why the device simply couldn't be called the Verizon Galaxy S 2, AT&T Galaxy S 2 and so on, perhaps the carriers feel that have to set themselves apart for all the rest in the world. T-Mobile isn't on the list so perhaps they are not carrying the handset or haven't yet decided on a suitable moniker. Do you like this renaming of a smartphone or would you prefer a handset to be known by one name no matter which carrier it is on? |
